Job summary

Duluth Entertainment Convention Center (DECC) is seeking an Event Cook for part-time hours to support catering operations. You will prepare meals, portions, and ingredients under the guidance of the Executive and Sous Chefs, ensuring quality and timely service for events.

Role emphasizes kitchen teamwork, safety, hygiene, and flexibility to adapt to event-driven schedules, including evenings and holidays. Previous kitchen work and a strong customer-service mindset are essential for success.

Qualifications

• At least one year of cooking or prep cook experience in the food service industry.
• Basic sanitation knowledge and ability to learn safety regulations.
• Ability to move quickly in a busy kitchen and work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals and ingredients as directed by the Executive Chef or Sous Chef.
• Prepare produce by peeling, cutting, and portioning.
• Maintain compliance with health, safety, and hygiene codes.
• Assist with unloading, inspection, and storage of ingredients.
• Produce hot and cold foods with proper rotation and garnish as directed.
