Job summary

The Duluth Entertainment Convention Center (DECC) is seeking a friendly Catering Server to help run catering operations during events. You will assist in set up, service, and post-event cleanup to ensure guest satisfaction.

This part-time, event-driven role requires the ability to move quickly, maintain high service levels, and work well with a team. Prior serving experience is preferred, and uniform and safety standards are provided by the DECC.

Qualifications

• There are no minimum education requirements for this position.
• Respond courteously and promptly to customer needs.
• Ability to ensure a high level of customer service.
• Ability to adapt to changes, delays, or unexpected events.
• Ability to move quickly throughout the complex when an event(s) is located in multiple areas of the building or a supply run is required.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Preferred Education and Experience: Serving experience.

Responsibilities

• Set tables prior to events, including dishes, tableware, napkins, etc.
• Serve food and beverages from kitchen and/or service areas.
• Relay special requests to kitchen.
• Clear and/or reset tables at conclusion of each course or meal.
• Assist with plating meals, when required.
• Assist in cleaning and restocking of service areas.
• Cooperate and assist team workers with other projects as assigned.
• Maintain a high degree of service-orientation when performing duties.
• Answer questions and assist guests regarding food and service.
• Assist team and/or other departments with tasks, including light cleaning, moving chairs or signage, and other event related functions.
• Create and maintain a professional and hospitable appearance and atmosphere.
• Follow sanitation, health, and safety protocols.
