Independence Construction, LLC in Columbus, OH is seeking a Project Engineer to assist the project manager and superintendent across multiple construction projects. The role covers coordination with subs and vendors, contract administration, material logistics, scheduling, and budget support.

Ideal candidates hold a bachelor’s degree in construction management or engineering and 1–3 years of experience, with strong communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management or engineering (or equivalent).
• 1–3 years of related experience required.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Knowledge of budgeting and expense control.
• Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
• Ability to organize work, handle multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work independently and with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with subs, vendors, suppliers, and Independence Construction project team.
• Administer and monitor compliance with construction contracts with Owners, subcontractors and vendors.
• Coordinate and expedite materials and services for the job site with the superintendent.
• Schedule and manage meetings throughout each phase of construction and preconstruction.
• Assist PM with budget management, revisions, cost projections, and cash flow projections; assist with reports.
• Review and coordinate structural, architectural and MEP drawings.
• Oversee change management processes and log changes by cost codes.
• Process subcontract change orders after Owner/PM approval.
• Manage RFI, submittal, drawing logs, and related logs.
