Independence Construction, Inc. is expanding our team in Northeast Ohio.

We are seeking a Project Engineer to assist the project manager and/or superintendent on construction projects, coordinating with subs and vendors, managing logs for RFIs and submittals, and contributing to budget and schedule control. The ideal candidate holds aBachelor’s degree in construction management or engineering with 1–3 years of related experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to multitask and meet

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management or engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 1-3 years of related experience is required.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Knowledge of budgeting and expense control.
• Able to write reports and business correspondence.
• Able to organize work, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
• Able to work independently and with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with subs, vendors, and project team.
• Administer and monitor construction contracts with Owners, subs, and vendors.
• Coordinate materials and services with the superintendent.
• Schedule and manage meetings through project phases.
• Assist PM with budget management, revisions, cash flow, and reporting.
• Review drawings and assist with change management processes.
• Analyze trade contractor proposals and price changes.
• Manage RFIs and submittals and maintain logs.
• Maintain drawing, submittal, and RFI logs.
• Support CM meetings with PM and Superintendent.
• Assist with master schedule and QA/QC program.
• Support close-out and punch list processes.
• Coordinate warranty requirements during the warranty period.
