Job summary

Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC) is seeking qualified individuals to join our part-time faculty pool for Culinary Arts instruction. The role includes preparing and delivering courses across day, evening, and weekend sessions, with responsibilities spanning curriculum development, student advising, and industry engagement.

Requirements include an Associate Degree or higher in Culinary, Baking, or Hospitality, 7+ years in hospitality roles, and ServSafe certification.

Qualifications

• Must have an Associate Degree (AAS/AA) or higher in Culinary, Baking, Hospitality.
• Minimum seven (7) years (14,000 hours) as Chef, Pastry Chef, Manager in hospitality.
• ServSafe certification with minimum 90% passing score.
• One year teaching equals two full-time semesters or four part-time semesters.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver engaging instruction per curriculum guidelines.
• Manage classroom and laboratory environments for a conducive learning atmosphere.
• Develop, monitor and revise curriculum for relevance and effectiveness.
• Manage equipment, supplies and materials for instructional activities.
• Assess student performance and provide constructive feedback.
• Advise students on academic matters and guide their educational journey.
• Collaborate with advisory committees, colleagues and industry partners.
• Attend departmental and institutional meetings for planning and decision-making.
• Promote programs, participate in recruitment, and support retention initiatives.
• Support student organizations and activities.
• Develop and maintain industry relationships to facilitate opportunities.
