Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores in Minnesota is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist in day-to-day store activities, train Store Associates, and help oversee opening and closing procedures.

The role emphasizes high-energy teamwork, strong communication, and a customer-first approach while maintaining store standards and loss prevention. The position is full-time and located at our Apple Valley store.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; ability to read and interpret operational directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor as needed and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives including payroll, scheduling, and cash handling and loss prevention.
• Maintain promotional efficiency of store fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping (including payroll, scheduling, and cash deposits) and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines across store operations.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers, associates, and leaders.
• Maintain cleanliness throughout the store, including bathrooms, floors, trash, and neatness.
