Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores INC is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in Minnesota to help oversee store operations, assist customers, and develop the team. You will participate in open/close procedures, merchandise handling, and daily/directive compliance.

The role requires strong communication, customer service, and leadership skills, with a focus on safety and store cleanliness in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred and required to read and explain operational directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform extensive walking, standing, and lifting.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize, transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays for storefronts.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, cash handling, and loss prevention.
• Keep store areas well-stocked and organized to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Ensure adherence to policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
• Support Store Manager in supervising, training, and developing Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Maintain cleanliness of the store, bathrooms, floors, and waste removal.
• Other duties as assigned.
