Job summary

Cherry Creek Schools is seeking an active School-Based Child Care Assistant to supervise students in the school program under a qualified leader. You will help develop and promote good community relations among families, students, and school staff.

The assistant must be at least 16 years of age, work under supervision, complete at least 15 clock hours of training each year, and demonstrate clear communication.

Qualifications

• The assistant must be at least 16 years of age.
• Assistants work directly under the supervision of the director, assistant director or leader.
• Each year of employment, the assistant must complete at least 15 clock hours of training.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Current First Aid and CPR certification or the ability to obtain within thirty (30) days.
• The assistant must demonstrate an ability to work with school age children.
• Criminal background check and fingerprinting required for hire.

Responsibilities

• Completes all tasks assigned by director, assistant director, or leader.
• Follow procedures as stated in the ECS Procedures Manual.
• Participates and plays with students in structured and unstructured activities.
• Maintains safe conditions for students and staff.
• Follows and enforces program discipline policies and procedures.
• Assists with maintenance, proper storage, and repair of equipment, materials and supplies.
• Contributes ideas for enrichment activities, curriculum, and program quality.
• Demonstrates excellent communication with parents, students, school staff and co workers.
• Follows district policies and goals and uses district facilities with care.
• Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
