The Minnesota Department of Public Safety (DPS) is seeking a DVS Exam & Insp Spec in St. Cloud. This role administers prescribed vision, knowledge, oral, road and skills tests for motor vehicle operators to ensure only qualified individuals obtain licenses, and inspects dealership facilities for compliance.
Historic duties include background checks and supplemental verification per state requirements. Telework is not eligible; standard day shift with on-site work in St. Cloud, MN.

This position exists to promote public roadway safety by the administration of prescribed vision screening, knowledge, oral, road and skills tests for motor vehicle operators so that only qualified individuals obtain a Minnesota's driver's license. This position is also responsible for inspecting motor vehicle dealership facilities and records to ensure compliance with state dealer laws, and to inspect motor vehicles for identification and titling purposes.
The Department of Public Safety is unable to provide sponsorship for work visas. Applicants must be eligible to work in the United States at the start of employment. DPS does not participate in E-Verify.
Requires occasionally moving and transporting such articles as file boxes and heavy hand tools or heavier materials with help from others, and moving and transporting light objects frequently. Even though the weights being moved and transported may be a negligible amount, a job in this category may require positioning self to move to a significant degree (in vehicles) or may involve maintaining a stationary position for extended periods.
