The Minnesota POST Board is looking for a temporary Standards Coordinator. This position conducts reviews of law enforcement agencies to ensure compliance with POST Board rules, policies, and statutes. Additionally, this position investigates alleged violations of peace officer standards of conduct, minimum selection standards, and unauthorized practice. This position will additionally assist state and local units of government in complying with POST Board and statutory requirements.
This position is eligible for a hybrid telework arrangement after successful completion of the probationary period. With a telework arrangement, onsite attendance may be required for team meetings or as decided by management to meet business needs. Completion of a telework agreement will be required. This position is anticipated to last one year.

Minimum qualifications assessed during the interview:
*An associate's degree in law enforcement, criminal justice, or a related field may substitute for 6 months of experience.
A bachelor’s degree in law enforcement, criminal justice, or a related fieldmay substitute forone year of experience.
Successful applicants must pass background and employment reference checks prior to employment. A criminal history does not automatically disqualify an applicant, and each case will be reviewed individually in alignment with fair hiring practices.
This position requires an incumbent to maintain a valid driver's license, and insurance, OR have other reliable transportation.
Applicants must have had no disciplinary action taken against their peace officer license or certification.
If invited to an interview, a writing exercise will be a component of the interview process. This writing sample will be evaluated as an addition assessment.
The Board establishes law enforcement licensing and training requirements and standards for law enforcement agencies and officers throughout the state. The Training includes defensive tactics, report writing, ethics, traffic enforcement, crime scene investigation, community policing, defensive driving and maneuvers.
