Minnesota Department of Public Safety - DPS is hiring for a DVS Exam & Inspection Specialist in Worthington. The role conducts vision, knowledge, oral, road and skills tests for motor vehicle operators to ensure only qualified drivers receive licenses. Also inspects dealer facilities and records for compliance with state laws.
Requires willingness to work outdoors, daytime hours, and up to 25% travel. Salary ranges $48,671–$68,778 annually; telework not eligible.

This position exists to promote public roadway safety by the administration of prescribed vision screening, knowledge, oral, road and skills tests for motor vehicle operators so that only qualified individuals obtain a Minnesota driver's license. This position is also responsible for inspecting motor vehicle dealership facilities and records to ensure compliance with state dealer laws, and to inspect motor vehicles for identification and titling purposes.

Requires occasionally moving and transporting such articles as file boxes and heavy hand tools or heavier materials with help from others, and moving and transporting light objects frequently. Even though the weights being moved and transported may be a negligible amount, a job in this category may require positioning self to move to a significant degree (in vehicles) or may involve maintaining a stationary position for extended periods
