Job summary

Milk Education is seeking a motivated Learning Mentor to join a welcoming Primary School in Durham. You’ll build relationships, support learners to overcome barriers and help children realise their potential.

Experience in mentoring, coaching, youth work or childcare is valuable; graduates or aspiring teachers are encouraged to apply. This full-time role offers flexible hours and a supportive consultant.

Milk Education is looking for a motivated and inspiring Learning Mentor to join a welcoming Primary School in Durham.

This is a brilliant opportunity for someone who enjoys building relationships, motivating young people and helping children overcome barriers to learning.

You don’t necessarily need to have worked as a Teaching Assistant before. If you’ve got experience in mentoring, coaching, youth work, childcare, community work, tutoring or supporting young people, your skills could be a fantastic fit.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Building positive relationships with pupils.
• Helping children set achievable learning and personal goals.
• Supporting pupils with confidence, motivation and resilience.
• Encouraging engagement with classroom learning.
• Providing 1:1 and small-group mentoring.
• Celebrating progress and achievements.
• Working alongside teachers and school staff.
• Helping pupils develop independence and positive learning habits.

This role is paid within the advertised pay scale. Your starting rate will be determined by your qualifications, relevant experience, and the requirements of the assignment.
