Job summary

Shirley Contracting Company, LLC is seeking a professional driver with a Class B CDL to join our Richmond, VA area operations. The role starts at 6:00 AM, with potential overtime and weekend hours, and is full-time year-round.

You will drive in diverse environments across the Mid-Atlantic and maintain rigorous safety standards. Responsibilities include DOT compliance, daily vehicle inspections, log maintenance, and performing related manual labor to support projects.

Qualifications

• Class B CDL required and manual transmission experience.
• Clean driving record with no major violations in 7 years.
• Must pass pre-employment DOT physical and drug screening.
• Ability to pass background checks for secure facilities.
• Willingness to perform manual labor to support projects.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate commercial vehicle in various environments including Virginia, Maryland, and DC.
• Comply with DOT rules, regulations, and guidelines.
• Complete daily pre- and post-trip inspections and maintain reports.
• Maintain daily mileage logs and work tickets.
• Keep assigned vehicle(s) clean and well-maintained.
• Support health and safety policies and contribute to a positive team environment.
• Perform manual labor tasks as needed to support projects.

Requirements

• Class B CDL Manual Transmission - Required
• Clean Driving Record (No major traffic violations, tickets or accidents for the last 7 years.)
• Must pass pre-employment DOT physical/drug screening
• Ability to pass background checks for secure facility access, preferred
• Must be willing to perform manual labor related tasks to support projects

Responsibilities

• Safely operate commercial vehicle while driving and maneuvering in a variety of situations, such as heavy traffic, construction sites, and tight areas within Virginia, Maryland and the District of Columbia.
• Knowledge of Department of Transportation (DOT) rules, regulations, and guidelines.
• Complete daily pre- and post-trip inspection and maintain inspection reports.
• Maintain daily mileage logs and work tickets.
• Maintain assigned vehicle(s) to a high standard of cleanliness.
• Ensure the company’s health and safety culture, policies and requirements are met.
• Establish and maintain a positive working relationship with co-workers.
• Must be willing to perform manual labor related tasks to support projects.

Applicants must be 18 years of age and currently authorized to work in the US on a full-time basis in order to be considered.

For this role the base hourly range is $25.00-$35.00. Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location.

Base pay is one part of the Total Compensation Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work.
