Job summary

CREST is seeking compassionate Direct Support Professionals to join our residential services team. DSPs provide essential daily support to adults with IDD in a group home setting—promoting independence, health, safety, and quality of life.

Responsibilities include personal care, goal support, medication assistance, transportation, and documentation, all while following individual plans and promoting dignity and inclusion. We offer training, benefits, and a mission-driven work environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED (required).
• At least 1 year of experience supporting individuals with IDD or a related field.
• Valid North Carolina Driver’s License with acceptable driving record.
• Ability to pass background checks, drug screening, and required training certifications.
• Strong communication, patience, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care and assistance with daily living activities (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, meals, etc.).
• Support individuals in achieving personal goals and developing independent living skills.
• Assist with medication administration in accordance with training and policy.
• Transport individuals to appointments, community activities, and employment programs.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized living environment.
• Complete required documentation, including progress notes, incident reports, and attendance logs.
• Follow individual support plans and behavior strategies as directed by the Qualified Professional (QP).
• Promote dignity, respect, and inclusion for all residents.
