Job summary

EP!C is seeking dependable Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide person-centered support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Host Home, Supported Living, and Apartment settings. Shifts vary with no fixed schedule; relief coverage is provided and staff help individuals participate in daily life, community activities, and goals identified in their plans.

Caregivers promote independence and skills through hands-on teaching.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must have a valid Illinois driver's license.
• Required automobile insurance.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centered support to individuals with I/DD.
• Support in Host Home, Supported Living, and Apartment settings.
• Provide relief coverage during provider or guardian absence.
• Supervise individuals during shifts in home and community.
• Assist with daily living activities and personal care.
• Promote independence through teaching living skills.
• Support participation in community activities and goals.
• Maintain a safe, clean home environment and report safety concerns.
• Transport using EP!C vehicle or personal vehicle.
• Advocate for rights and choices; respect civil and legal rights.
