Job summary
EP!C is seeking dependable Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide person-centered support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Host Home, Supported Living, and Apartment settings. Shifts vary with no fixed schedule; relief coverage is provided and staff help individuals participate in daily life, community activities, and goals identified in their plans.
Caregivers promote independence and skills through hands-on teaching.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must have a valid Illinois driver's license.
- Required automobile insurance.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Responsibilities
- Provide person-centered support to individuals with I/DD.
- Support in Host Home, Supported Living, and Apartment settings.
- Provide relief coverage during provider or guardian absence.
- Supervise individuals during shifts in home and community.
- Assist with daily living activities and personal care.
- Promote independence through teaching living skills.
- Support participation in community activities and goals.
- Maintain a safe, clean home environment and report safety concerns.
- Transport using EP!C vehicle or personal vehicle.
- Advocate for rights and choices; respect civil and legal rights.
