Job summary

The Alden Village Health Facility for Children and Young Adults is seeking a Direct Support Person in training. After completing a 3-week DSP course, you will be certified and work full time on the 2PM-10PM or 10PM-6AM shifts.

Under nurse supervision, you will provide activities and care to residents, following approved plans and completing required trainings. This entry-level role offers hands-on experience in a compassionate, team-focused setting.

Qualifications

• Must read, write, and speak English clearly.
• Be personable, enthusiastic, and trustworthy.
• Complete a state-approved DSP training program.
• Must pass the DSP Competency Examination and registry within 120 days.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living under nurse supervision.
• Develop and follow a written plan of care for each resident.
• Attend care plan conferences and family/Resident Council as invited.
• Report concerns to the Administrator promptly.
• Makes rounds to ensure residents are safe and comfortable.
