Job summary

Association for Individual Development in Batavia, IL is seeking an Entry Level Direct Support Professional to assist individuals with daily living and community integration. The DSP will implement individualized strategies under supervision, document services, and support client rights and dignity.

Schedule: Sun 9a-9p; Mon-Thurs 3-10p. Requires high school diploma, access to transportation, and willingness to work at multiple sites. Training is provided; benefits included for full-time staff.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• CNA or Autism Certificate desired.
• Experience with developmentally disabled adults preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and assist with transfers when needed.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining a team approach with clients, staff, and outside agencies.
• Implementing programs from the Individual Plan and documenting per procedures.
• Follow all agency rules and report concerns to supervisor promptly.
• Plan and prepare meals following dietician-approved menus with client input.
• Attend to clients’ self-care needs including toileting and grooming.
• Provide transportation for clients as needed.
• Ensure safe conditions inside and outside the home and report safety issues.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary environment and assist with daily living tasks.
• Attend meetings, shifts, trainings, and orient new staff.
