Job summary

Alden Village Health Facility for Children and Young Adults is seeking Direct Support Persons in training. The DSP in training will work under a nurse's supervision, providing residents with activities and services to ensure high-quality care.

Upon successful completion of a 3-week training course, you will be certified as a DSP and assigned to full-time shifts from 2 PM–10 PM or 10 PM–6 AM. This entry-level role emphasizes compassion, reliability, and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• CPR certification or ability to obtain within two weeks of employment.
• Healthcare Worker Registry must be listed within 120 days of hire.
• DSP paid training program completed or in facility.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living under supervision of a nurse.
• Contribute to care plan development for each resident.
• Attend care plan conferences and participate in resident/family councils when invited.
• Record and report changes in resident condition to nursing staff.
• Maintain safety, warmth, and cleanliness in the care setting.
• Support self-care and rehabilitation activities as directed.
• Assist with transfers, meals, and routine care tasks as assigned.
