Melody Cares in Stillwater, MN is seeking an energetic Direct Support Professional to provide compassionate care for an outgoing young lady at home and in the community. You will assist with daily living activities, accompany her on outings, and engage in activities like music therapy and library visits.

Requirements include a background check, a valid US driver’s license, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Job Summary:

We are currently seeking an energetic & outgoing DSP who is compassionate and would provide exceptional care and ensure the safety and well-being of an outgoing young lady in her home and community. This position requires a dedicated individual who is committed to helping with personal cares as well as doing fun things at home and in the community. A few things about this wonderful individual is she likesto ask questions to learn, to meet new people, to talk to people, music therapy, thrift stores, spending time with family and friends, going to the library, going to the zoo, puzzles, reading, grocery shopping, vacations, doing new things and new environments!

Duties:

• Provide direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities

Minimum Qualifications:

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred.
• Knowledge of resident rights and person-centered care approach.
• Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and respect privacy.
• 2-3 years of DSP experience required
• Please note that this position requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds
