Job summary

Melody Cares in Stillwater, MN is seeking an energetic DSP to provide compassionate, in-home care for a young lady in her home and community. The role focuses on safety, well-being, and helping her make responsible choices.

The position involves weekend shifts (Saturday 1p-9p, Sunday 7a-9p) with in-person work. Candidates must be at least 18, pass a background check, have a valid driver’s license, and be fluent in English.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities.

• Assist with meal preparation and feeding.

Job Summary:

Duties:

• Provide direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities
• Assist with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
• Administer medication and monitor vital signs under the supervision of a nurse
• Implement individualized care plans and ensure resident rights are respected
• Assist with meal preparation and feeding
• Maintain a clean and safe living environment
• Provide companionship and engage individuals in recreational activities

Minimum Qualifications:

• A positive attitude and willingness to learn
• Compassion and a desire to help others
• 18 years of age or older
• Ability to pass a background check
• Valid US driver's license
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to read, write, and speak the English language

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred.
• Knowledge of resident rights and person-centered care approach.
• Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and respect privacy.
• 2-3 years of DSP experience required
• Please note that this position requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds
