Catholic Charities of Baltimore is seeking a Direct Support Professional for Gallagher Services in Parkville, MD. The role provides quality living support to adults with IDD in community settings, emphasizing person-centered planning and independence.

The DSP will work 20 hours per week on Saturdays and Sundays 11 AM - 9 PM, with benefits including health/dental/vision, PTO, and a 403(b) retirement plan. This on-site position requires driving and physical ability to assist with daily tasks.

Qualifications

• Experience in direct-support or care-giving settings preferred.
• Ability to communicate clearly with individuals with IDD.
• Willingness to complete Medication Technician Training if not already certified.

PAY RANGE: $20 - $20.50 per hour (Depending on years of experience and certifications)

Catholic Charities of Baltimore is currently seeking a Direct Support Professionalwho will provides quality living support (physical, social, behavioral, career, and personal) to persons with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities (IDD) living and working in the community.

The work schedule is: 20 hours per week, Saturday and Sunday 11 AM - 9 PM

Gallagher Services supportsadults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in living the life of their choice.Adults are supported in living, working and being involved in the community as independently as possible. HowYou’llSupport:

• Offer encouraging verbal prompts and gentle reminders that support the person in staying focused andinitiatingtheir daily tasks, while honoring their pace and preferences.
• Support the person in building confidence and skills to manage their money and make informed, independent purchasing decisions.
• Be patient and respectful in action and speaking
• Advocate for each person’s rights and help build their confidence and sense of self
• Keep clear, respectful records to ensure continuity of care and support

MinimumRequirements:

• Mustbe at least 21 years old
• Valid driver’s license with at least 2 years of driving experience and no more than 3 points
• Comfortable driving agency vehicles andassistingpeople who use wheelchairs
• Able tolift upto 75 pounds, stand forlong periods, and provide physicalassistancewhen needed
• Completion of Medication Technician Training Program (or willingness to complete)
