Job summary

All’s Well Healthcare partners with California’s DDS to launch a paid 3-month shadow training internship for individuals supporting adults with developmental needs. As a Direct Service Professional (DSP) Intern, you will shadow a mentor for up to three months and 30 hours per week, gaining hands-on experience toward potential permanent employment.

Your duties vary by individual goals but include empowering clients, supporting communication, daily living tasks, and community participation.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Must have a High School Diploma (or equivalent) or a Certificate of Completion.
• Must have a valid Identification Card or Driver’s License.
• Must pass a background check and other required health screenings.

Responsibilities

• Help individuals feel empowered and respected.
• Support communication and social interaction.
• Assist with daily living skills (e.g. cooking, hygiene, transportation).
• Encourage and support participation in community activities.
• Facilitate access to services and resources.
• Support education, job readiness, and career goals.
• Promote health and wellness.
• Advocate for individual rights and inclusion.
• Help build and maintain meaningful relationships.
• Document services and progress.
