Job summary

All’s Well Healthcare is partnering with California's DDS to offer a 3‑month paid shadow training program for aspiring Direct Service Professionals (DSPs). Interns shadow trained staff, learning to support adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities, with a path to permanent roles sometimes as early as week three.

You’ll work under a DSP mentor for up to 30 hours weekly, gaining hands-on experience in independence support, community involvement, and personalized care planning.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• HS Diploma or equivalent or Certificate of Completion.
• Must have a valid ID or Driver’s License.
• Must pass a background check and other required health screenings.

Responsibilities

• Empower individuals and treat them with respect.
• Support communication and social interaction.
• Assist with daily living skills (e.g. cooking, hygiene, transportation).
• Encourage participation in community activities and access to services.
• Support education, job readiness, and career goals.
• Promote health and wellness and advocate for rights and inclusion.
• Document services and progress; keep the person at the center of decisions.
