Job summary

Alls Well Healthcare, in partnership with California's DDS, offers a paid 3-month shadow training program for aspiring Direct Service Professionals (DSP) Interns. You will shadow experienced DSP mentors for up to 30 hours/week and gain hands-on experience supporting adults with developmental or intellectual disabilities.

Duties include empowering individuals, supporting communication and daily living skills, promoting participation in the community, and documenting progress.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Must have a High School Diploma (or equivalent) or a Certificate of Completion.
• Must have a valid Identification Card or Driver’s License.
• Must pass a background check and other required health screenings.

Responsibilities

• Help individuals feel empowered and respected.
• Support communication and social interaction.
• Assist with daily living skills (e.g. cooking, hygiene, transportation).
• Encourage and support participation in community activities.
• Facilitate access to services and resources.
• Support education, job readiness, and career goals.

• Advocate for individual rights and inclusion.
• Help build and maintain meaningful relationships.
• Document services and progress.
• Ensure the person remains at the center of all decision-making.
