Job summary

Becoming Independent in Sonoma Valley is seeking a Direct Support Professional II to assist individuals in achieving personal goals through community engagement, volunteering, employment, education and other interests. This role emphasizes meaningful daily activities and person-centered planning.

Responsibilities include developing and implementing service plans, coordinating training, maintaining records, and promoting independence while ensuring safety during transportation and community

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework preferred.
• Experience with individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities desirable.
• Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain records and write reports on tasks performed.
• Coordinate and provide instruction to promote skill development and independence.
• Assist in transportation and community access activities as needed.
• Participate in team planning meetings and curriculum development.
• Mentor new hires and lead large class/community group activities.
