Job summary

Dungarvin is a mission-driven provider of support services, delivering person-centered care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and other complex medical needs. The Direct Support Professional Float (DSPF) role involves direct care, health services support, and cross-program duties across Austin sites to empower independence while respecting dignity.

Starting pay is $11/hour with flexible scheduling.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Minimum 2 years of experience working with individuals with disabilities.
• Person-centered, patient and kind.
• Dependable, adaptable and flexible.
• Observant and detail oriented.
• Positive role model and able to work on a team.
• Committed to a respectful and collaborative environment.
• Valid Driver’s License; some roles may require own vehicle and auto-liability insurance.
• Successful background clearance during onboarding.
• Good reading, writing and communication skills to document care and follow support plans.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on assistance, encouragement, mentoring, and guidance.
• Ensure the comfort, safety, and personal growth of the individuals we serve.
• Assist with daily living tasks such as moving around, getting in and out of bed, dressing, bathing, toileting, personal hygiene and more.
• Schedule appointments and outings for individuals, coordinate and provide transportation for individuals to and from the community.
• Establish and maintain individual’s medical records, both active and inactive, in accordance with established policies and procedures.
