Job summary

Dungarvin in Austin, TX is seeking a Direct Support Professional Float (DSPF) to provide direct care and clerical/technical support to individuals with disabilities. The DSPF will work across multiple programs, delivering positive direction and guidance to empower independence.

The role offers cross-training, a flexible schedule, and the chance to make a meaningful impact daily. Starting pay is $11/hour with a $500 sign-on bonus for select programs.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 2 years of experience with individuals with disabilities preferred.
• Must be dependable, adaptable, and a strong team player.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on assistance and guidance to individuals served.

Job Description

A Direct Support Professional Float (DSPF) caregiver is responsible for providing clerical and technical support in maintaining health services delivery to individuals as well as providing direct care. The DSP Float provides direct support, positive direction, instruction, and assistance to individuals with mental, intellectual & developmental, and physical disabilities. The ultimate goal is to empower individuals with disabilities to live as independently and comfortably as possible while maintaining their dignity and respect. Work assignments may be during any scheduled hours and at any sites where Dungarvin provides services

What you get to do:

• Provide hands-on assistance, encouragement, mentoring, and guidance.
• Ensure the comfort, safety, and personal growth of the individuals we serve.
• Assist with daily living tasks such as moving around, getting in and out of bed, dressing, bathing, toileting, personal hygiene and more.
• Schedule appointments and outings for individuals, coordinate and provide transportation for individuals to and from the community
• Establish and maintain individual’s medical records, both active and inactive, in accordance with established policies and procedures
  

Qualifications

• Good communication is key in this role. You’ll rely on your reading, writing, and communication skills to document care, follow support plans, and collaborate with both internal and external team members.
