Job summary

Dungarvin is seeking a Direct Support Professional Float (DSPF) in the Cedar Park area to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. You will provide direct care, positive direction, instruction, and assistance to help people live as independently as possible with dignity and respect.

The role offers cross-training across multiple programs, flexible schedules, and opportunities for growth, with a starting pay of $11/hour and a $500 sign-on bonus for select programs.

Qualifications

• Minimum 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 2 years of prior experience with individuals with disabilities.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Valid driver’s license; some positions may require own vehicle.

Job Description

A Direct Support Professional Float (DSPF) caregiver is responsible for providing clerical and technical support in maintaining health services delivery to individuals as well as providing direct care. The DSP Float provides direct support, positive direction, instruction, and assistance to individuals with mental, intellectual & developmental, and physical disabilities. The ultimate goal is to empower individuals with disabilities to live as independently and comfortably as possible while maintaining their dignity and respect. Work assignments may be during any scheduled hours and at any sites where Dungarvin provides services

• Provide hands-on assistance, encouragement, mentoring, and guidance.
• Ensure the comfort, safety, and personal growth of the individuals we serve.
• Assist with daily living tasks such as moving around, getting in and out of bed, dressing, bathing, toileting, personal hygiene and more.
• Schedule appointments and outings for individuals, coordinate and provide transportation for individuals to and from the community
• Establish and maintain individual’s medical records, both active and inactive, in accordance with established policies and procedures

• Good communication is key in this role. You’ll rely on your reading, writing, and communication skills to document care, follow support plans, and collaborate with both internal and external team members.
