Job summary

Dungarvin is a mission-driven provider of support services, delivering person-centered care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and other complex medical needs. The Direct Support Professional Float (DSPF) role involves direct care, health services support, and cross-program duties across Austin sites to empower independence while respecting dignity.

Starting pay is $11/hour with flexible scheduling.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Minimum 2 years of experience working with individuals with disabilities.
• Person-centered, patient and kind.
• Dependable, adaptable and flexible.
• Observant and detail oriented.
• Positive role model and able to work on a team.
• Committed to a respectful and collaborative environment.
• Valid Driver’s License; some roles may require own vehicle and auto-liability insurance.
• Successful background clearance during onboarding.
• Good reading, writing and communication skills to document care and follow support plans.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on assistance, encouragement, mentoring, and guidance.
• Ensure the comfort, safety, and personal growth of the individuals we serve.
• Assist with daily living tasks such as moving around, getting in and out of bed, dressing, bathing, toileting, personal hygiene and more.
• Schedule appointments and outings for individuals, coordinate and provide transportation for individuals to and from the community.
• Establish and maintain individual’s medical records, both active and inactive, in accordance with established policies and procedures.

Job Description

ADirect Support Professional Float (DSPF) caregiver is responsible for providing clerical and technical support in maintaining health services delivery to individuals as well as providing direct care. The DSP Float provides direct support, positive direction, instruction, and assistance to individuals with mental, intellectual & development, and physical disabilities. The ultimate goal is to empower individuals with disabilities to live as independently and comfortably as possible while maintaining their dignity and respect. Work assignments may be during any scheduled hours and at any sites where Dungarvin provides services
