Job summary

Oak Hill in Granby, CT is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) for a full-time day shift. Location is Granby, CT with a 40-hour weekly schedule from Sunday through Thursday, 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Compensation starts at $20.39/hour, with differential pay for specific schedules.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver's license to transport individuals in agency vehicles.
• Ability to pass background checks, fingerprinting, and pre-employment health screenings.
• Ability to complete required training programs and maintain necessary certifications.
• Commitment to maintaining a safe, healthy, and professional work environment in accordance with Oak Hill policies.
• Commitment to continuity of care, including occasional stay beyond scheduled shift if needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist with personal care, grooming, bathing, dressing, and hygiene per individual plans.
• Provide assistance with continence care as needed.
• Administer medications and maintain medication records as trained.
• Transport individuals to appointments, activities, and events using agency vehicles.
• Prepare meals and provide mealtime support according to menus and dietary needs.
• Assist individuals with mobility and transfers using approved equipment.
• Document daily activities, health information, and medication administration in the EHR.
• Follow emergency procedures and safety protocols; apply First Aid/CPR when required.
• Communicate effectively with colleagues, individuals served, family members, and other stakeholders.
