Job summary

Home Life, Inc. in Corvallis, Oregon, is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) for Thursday through Monday shifts (8:00a–8:00p).

This female-only staffing requirement supports individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a supportive community setting. The DSP will assist individuals to live more independently, follow ISP plans, document activities, and participate in team-based care within a private, non-profit organization.

Qualifications

• Ability to pass an initial criminal history check and recheck every 2 years.
• Be a citizen of the United States or legally able to work in the United States
• Must be at least eighteen years old and hold a current driving license, insurance, and a good driving record (unless in a non-driving position).
• Ability to complete required training and annual training thereafter.
• The ability to maintain regular attendance and to perform tasks outlined in this description (with or without a reasonable accommodation) is an essential function of this position).

Responsibilities

• Adhere to policies, rules, and procedures of Home Life, Oregon DDS, DHS, and Oregon Administrative Rules (OAR).
• Ensure working hours are accurately documented by clocking in and out in the payroll system and submitting Timecard Change forms if needed.
• Understand the importance of respecting the homes and boundaries of supported individuals and treating their property with respect and professionalism.
• Understand the requirements of maintaining confidentiality and safeguarding individual information.
• Work as a team with other support staff to ensure the best quality of services.
• Assure that all pertinent information regarding supported individuals, major issues, or the program is communicated to other staff or supervisors as needed.
• Attend and participate in staff meetings and required training.
• Complete initial core competency training standards and at least 24 hours of in-service each year.
• Read Therap and other documentation each shift and communicate with staff appropriately.
• Assume additional responsibilities as assigned by Management.
