Job summary

Department for Persons with Disabilities (DPD) is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to join our 40-hour-per-week team in New Hampshire. This role supports residents in group homes, assists with personal care, daily living activities, and documentation, and may involve transporting residents and medication administration.

We offer regular salary at $20.49/hour weekdays and $21.49/hour for weekend shifts, plus comprehensive benefits and paid training.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to meet CPR/First Aid and emergency evacuation procedures.
• Experience with ID/DD population is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Help meet residents' health, safety and welfare in the group home.
• Assist with personal care, cleaning, cooking and life skills.
• Administer and/or assist with medication administration.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, co-workers and residents living in the homes.
• Drive residents to/from day programs and community activities using agency vehicles.
• Record daily documentation of services provided.
• Support residents in fun community-based activities.

Regular Salary: $20.49 per hour Mon-Fri and $21.49 per hour (shifts beginning 11PM Friday to 11PM on Sunday). Non-work time will be paid at the base rate.

What's the role of a Direct Support Professional/Residential Counselor (DSP)?

• Residential Counselor is a direct care professional whose primary responsibility is to help meet the personal health, safety and welfare of the people living in the group home.
• You will assist and/or supervise individuals in personal care areas i.e. bathing/toileting; participate and/or supervise in cleaning, cooking and life skills.
• Administer and/or assist with medication administration.
• You must communicate effectively with supervisors, co-workers and the individuals living in the homes.
• Drive residents to/from day programs, outside/within their community using agency vehicles.
• This position requires daily documentation of services provided.
• Assist with fun community-based activities.

Job Requirements:

• Be motivated to work as part of a team that acts in the best interest of our residents at all times.
• Experience with ID/DD population is a plus.
• This career requires HS diploma or equivalent.
• A valid (non-provisional) driver's license
• The ability to meet the physical requirements of CPR/First Aid and our emergency evacuation procedures.

Full Time-Shift: 40 hours per week, (Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday 3pm-11pm)

All staff must attend a monthly Staff Meeting - date/time to be determined and announced in advance.
