AmeriWell Care is seeking a compassionate Direct Support Professional (DSP) for weekend respite in Manchester, NJ. The role provides one-on-one support, assists with daily living activities, and facilitates community engagement to ensure safety and well-being.

Ideal candidates have DSP or caregiver experience, reliable transportation, and are able to pass background checks. CPR/First Aid certification is preferred or obtainable. Weekend schedule offers meaningful, consistent hours.

Qualifications

Direct Support Professional (DSP) – Weekend Respite Case

Immediate Hire

Location: Manchester, NJ
Schedule: Saturdays & Sundays, 9:00 AM – 9:00 PM (24 hours/week)
Position Type: Part-Time Weekend Respite

About the Position

AmeriWell Care is seeking a compassionate, reliable, and dedicated Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide one-on-one support for an individual receiving respite services in Manchester, New Jersey. The DSP will assist with daily living activities, community engagement, supervision, and ensuring the individual's health, safety, and overall well-being.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and support in the individual's home and community
• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) as needed
• Promote independence, dignity, and person-centered care
• Accompany and support the individual during community outings and recreational activities
• Monitor health, safety, and behavioral needs
• Maintain accurate documentation and daily notes
• Communicate effectively with family members, care team members, and agency staff
• Follow all AmeriWell Care policies and NJ DDD requirements

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities preferred
• DSP, caregiver, HHA, CNA, or related experience encouraged
• Reliable transportation and valid driver's license
• Ability to pass background screening and complete required trainings
• Strong communication, patience, and interpersonal skills
• CPR/First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
