Job summary

Ameriwell Care in New Jersey is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to help individuals with developmental disabilities build independence and stay connected to their communities. You will work closely with clients in homes and community settings, supporting daily routines and personal goals.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years old.
• Be able to complete all required hiring clearances and screenings.
• Have CPR and First Aid certification.
• Have reliable transportation for getting to assigned cases.
• Bring a positive attitude, patience, and a strong sense of responsibility.
• Experience is a plus, but not required—we provide guidance and support.

What You’ll Be Doing

In this role, you’ll work closely with individuals in their homes and out in the community, helping them live more independently and achieve their personal goals.

Your day-to-day may include:

• Supporting individuals with daily routines and essential life skills

• Assisting with personal care, meal preparation, and organization

• Accompanying individuals to community activities, appointments, and outings

• Encouraging social interaction, confidence, and independence

• Ensuring a safe, structured, and positive environment

• Recording services accurately using required electronic systems

• Staying in communication with families and the care team

Work Environment & Scheduling

You’ll provide support in both residential and community settings, depending on individual needs.
