Job summary

AmeriWell Care in Manchester, NJ seeks an Overnight Respite Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide in-home, overnight relief for an adult with developmental disabilities. This role offers flexibility with part-time or full-time options and runs from 9:00 PM to 9:00 AM.

The DSP will ensure safety, support personal care, and follow individualized support plans while documenting progress and maintaining open communication with family and the support team.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities preferred.
• Experience with behavioral support needs is highly desirable.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Pass a criminal background check.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to remain awake, alert, and attentive during overnight shifts.

Responsibilities

• Provide overnight supervision and support in the individual's home.
• Ensure health, safety, and well-being during the shift.
• Assist with personal care as needed.
• Monitor behavioral or medical concerns and follow support plans.
• Complete required documentation and progress notes accurately and timely.
• Maintain a safe, respectful, and supportive environment.
• Communicate effectively with family, agency staff, and support team members.
• Follow all agency policies, NJ DDD regulations, Danielle's Law, and incident reporting requirements.
