Ameriwell Care is looking for compassionate, dependable, and energetic Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their homes and communities.
As a DSP with Ameriwell Care, you’ll have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference while helping individuals build independence, participate in their communities, and work toward their personal goals.
As a Direct Support Professional, you may:
Provide one-on-one support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
Assist with daily living skills and increasing independence
Support community outings, recreational activities, shopping, appointments, and social activities
Help individuals work toward goals outlined in their Individualized Service Plan (ISP)
Encourage choice, independence, and community participation
Provide companionship and positive, person-centered support
Assist with personal care when required by the individual
Provide transportation to community activities when applicable
Complete required service documentation and daily notes
Follow all safety plans, behavioral strategies, medical protocols, and agency policies applicable to the individual
We are looking for candidates who are:
At least 18 years old
Compassionate, patient, dependable, and professional
Comfortable working independently in home and community settings
Able to communicate effectively with individuals, families, and the Ameriwell Care team
Willing to complete all required NJ DDD training and background-clearance requirements
Experienced working with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities is preferred, but qualified candidates with the right attitude are encouraged to apply
A valid driver's license and reliable transportation may be required depending on the assignment
