Job summary

Ameriwell Care in New Jersey is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to support an older adult male in a respectful, structured environment. This weekday role offers meaningful, stable hours and weekly pay.

You will assist with daily routines, provide companionship, and help with meal prep and light household tasks. Training is available, and the schedule is Monday–Friday, 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+.
• Valid driver’s license (preferred).
• Ability to pass background checks.
• DSP experience is a plus (but not required—we can train the right person).
• Must be able to work the full scheduled shift consistently.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on support and supervision to an older adult male.
• Assist with daily routines and evening schedule.
• Provide companionship and positive engagement.
• Support community activities and outings as applicable.
• Meal prep assistance and light household support.
• Promote independence, safety, and personal goals.
• Assist with hygiene reminders and personal care as needed.

What You’ll Do

As a DSP, you will provide hands-on support and supervision, including:

• Assisting with daily routines and evening schedule

• Providing companionship and positive engagement

• Supporting community activities and outings (as applicable)

• Meal prep assistance and light household support

• Promoting independence, safety, and personal goals

• Assisting with hygiene reminders and personal care (as needed)

• Documenting daily notes and reporting changes to the supervisor

• Following individualized support plans and maintaining professionalism
