Job summary

AmeriWell Care is seeking a compassionate Direct Support Professional (DSP) for weekend respite in Manchester, NJ. The role provides one-on-one support, assists with daily living activities, and facilitates community engagement to ensure safety and well-being.

Ideal candidates have DSP or caregiver experience, reliable transportation, and are able to pass background checks. CPR/First Aid certification is preferred or obtainable. Weekend schedule offers meaningful, consistent hours.

Qualifications

• Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred.
• Background check and trainings required prior to start.
• CPR/First Aid certification preferred or willing to obtain.
• Must have reliable transportation and valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and support in home and community settings.
• Assist with activities of daily living as needed.
• Promote independence, dignity, and person-centered care.
• accompanies individual during community outings and recreational activities.
• Monitor health, safety, and behavioral needs; maintain notes.
