Job summary

AHRC New York City is seeking Day Program Direct Support Professionals (DSP) for multiple Bronx programs, with on-site interviews and on-the-spot offers. Full-time hours are 8:30am-3:30pm, Monday through Friday (35 hours/week). Per-diem positions also available with different schedules.

Pay ranges from $18 to $20.20 per hour, plus a generous benefits packet. Responsibilities include assisting participants to learn social and daily living skills, accompanying to appointments and activities, and

Qualifications

• Personal and/or professional experience working with individuals with disabilities is preferred.
• Driver's License for more than one year in good standing preferred.
• Ability to communicate both orally and in written form in English.
• Knowledge of Home and Community Based Waiver, and the ability to keep up to date pertaining to such knowledge, and interpret same.
• Understanding of Person Centered Planning.
• Ability to establish and maintain a working relationship with program participants, families, staff and community agencies.
• High School diploma or GED is required.

Responsibilities

• Work with participants by assisting them to learn and develop social skills, daily living skills and habits.
• Accompany participants to appointments, community outings, and other activities.
• Complete progress notes and make entries into the daily log book.

AHRC NYC is holding a HIRING EVENTwith ON THE SPOT JOB OFFERS!for Full and Part-Time Day Program Direct Support Professionals (DSP) for multiple Bronx Day Programs.

DATE & TIME: FRIDAY AUGUST 28th from 10AM-1PM

LOCATION: Recruiter will provide specific address for qualified candidates.

Pay Rate: $18 - $20.20 per hour depending on driving status and AMAP certification. In addition, this position comes with a very generous and comprehensive Benefit packet. See additional Benefit information below.
