AHRC New York City is seeking Direct Support Professionals for various Bronx Day Programs, offering Full and Part-Time opportunities. Positions provide a pay rate of $18–$20 per hour for full-time roles, based on driving status and AMAP certification. Candidates will work Monday to Friday, fostering participant learning and development.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

AHRC NYC is holding a hiring event with on‑the‑spot job offers for Full and Part‑Time Day Program Direct Support Professionals (DSP) for multiple Bronx Day Programs. Date & time: Tuesday, March 31st from 10AM-1PM. Location: Recruiter will provide the specific address for qualified candidates.

Full‑time positions: Pay rate $18–$20 per hour depending on driving status and AMAP certification. Schedule — Monday – Friday, 8:30am to 3:30pm (35 hours per week).

Per diem positions: Pay rate $20 per hour. Schedule — Monday – Friday, 8:30am to 2:30pm (30 hours per week).

Responsibilities

• Work with participants by assisting them to learn and develop social skills, daily living skills and habits
• Accompany participants to appointments, community outings, and other activities
• Complete progress notes and make entries into the daily log book

Qualifications

• Personal and/or professional experience working with individuals with disabilities is preferred
• Driver's license held for more than one year in good standing preferred
• Ability to communicate orally and in written form in English
• Knowledge of Home and Community Based Waiver and ability to keep up to date and interpret same
• Understanding of Person Centered Planning
• Ability to establish and maintain a working relationship with program participants, families, staff and community agencies
• High school diploma or GED is required
