Job summary

AHRC NYC is seeking Full-Time Direct Support Professionals (DSP) for their Bronx Day Program. The role involves assisting participants in developing social and daily living skills, as well as accompanying them to appointments. Candidates are preferred to have experience with individuals with disabilities and excellent communication skills. The position offers a pay rate of $18 per hour plus a comprehensive benefits package, including free medical insurance, paid time off, and more.

Qualifications

• Personal and/or Professional experience working with individuals with disabilities is preferred.
• Drivers License for more than one year in good standing preferred.
• Ability to communicate both orally and in written form in English.
• Knowledge of Home and Community Based Waiver.
• Understanding of Person Centered Planning.
• Ability to establish and maintain relationships with participants.

Responsibilities

• Assist participants in learning social skills and daily living skills.
• Accompany participants to appointments and community outings.
• Complete progress notes and daily log book entries.

Skills

AHRC New York City is seeking Full-Time (35 hours per week) Direct Support Professionals (DSP) for their Bronx Day Program .

Pay Rate: $18 per hour plus a very generous and comprehensive Benefit packet. See additional Benefit information below.

In addition, Bonuses listed below are available depending on driving status and program needs.

• $2,000 annually upon completion and passing of AHRC Defensive Driving class
• $2,000 annually upon completion of AMAP training.

Schedule - Monday - Friday 8:30am to 3:30pm.

• Complete progress notes and make entries into the daily log book.
