Job summary

AHRC New York City is seeking compassionate Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in our programs in Brooklyn. The per-diem role offers potential transition to full-time with benefits based on performance and provides a $20 per hour rate.

Shifts run Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM, totaling 30 hours weekly. Responsibilities include facilitating self-directed living, promoting community participation, and ensuring

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience with individuals with disabilities preferred.
• Knowledge of Home and Community-Based Waiver services is a plus.
• Understanding of Person-Centered Planning.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
• Flexibility to meet scheduling needs.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with individuals, families, staff, and community agencies.

• Oversee safety and health considerations.

• Location : Brooklyn Programs.
• Job Type : Per-Diem (with potential to become Full-Time with Full Benefits based on performance).
• Pay Rate : $20 per hour.
• Schedule : Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM - 2:30 PM (30 hours a week).
