Job summary

AHRC New York City is seeking Direct Support Professionals for the Bronx Day Program. This full-time role (35 hours per week) offers pay of $18 per hour and a comprehensive benefits package. Schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 3:30pm, with opportunities for training and advancement.

Responsibilities include supporting participants in daily living and social skills, plus documentation of progress. Qualifications include experience with disabilities preferred, a valid driver’s license,

Job Description

AHRC New York City is seeking Full-Time (35 hours per week) Direct Support Professionals (DSP) for their Bronx Day Program.

Pay Rate: $18 per hour plus a very generous and comprehensive Benefit packet. See additional Benefit information below. In addition, Bonuses listed below are available depending on driving status and program needs. $2,000 annually upon completion and passing of AHRC Defensive Driving class $2,000 annually upon completion of AMAP training.

Schedule - Monday - Friday 8:30am to 3:30pm.

Responsibilities

• Work with participants by assisting them to learn and develop social skills, daily living skills and habits.
• Accompany participants to appointments, community outings, and other activities.
• Complete progress notes and make entries into the daily log book.

Qualifications

• Personal and/or Professional experience working with individuals with disabilities is preferred.
• Drivers License for more than one year in good standing preferred
• Ability to communicate both orally and in written form in English.
• Knowledge of Home and Community Based Waiver, and the ability to keep up to date pertaining to such knowledge, and interpret same.
• Understanding of Person Centered Planning.
• Ability to establish and maintain a working relationship with program participants, families, staff and community agencies.
• High School diploma or GED is preferred.
