AHRC New York City is seeking Full-time Direct Support Professionals (DSP) who must have a valid Driver’s License and be comfortable driving a small van for their Adult Day Program in Staten Island.

The role includes supporting individuals with disabilities, ensuring safety, and assisting with daily living activities. The position offers a pay rate of $18 per hour and an extensive benefits package including free medical insurance, paid time off, and more.

Qualifications

• Valid NY or Tri-State Driver’s license, in good standing, required.
• Experience driving a small van is a plus.
• Personal and/or professional experience working with individuals with disabilities is preferred.
• Understanding of Person-Centered Planning.
• Reasonable flexibility in work hours and ability to respond to the scheduling needs of the individual.
• Ability to establish and maintain a working relationship with program participants, families, staff, and community agencies.
• Ability to communicate both orally and in written form in English.
• High School diploma or GED is preferred.

Job Description

AHRC New York City is seeking Full‑time Direct Support Professionals (DSP) who have a valid Driver’s License and are comfortable driving a small van for their Adult Day Program in Staten Island.

Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:30am - 3:30pm (35 hours per week). Upon completion and passing of the AHRC NYC Defensive Driving class if driving is needed, hours may vary.

Pay rate: $18 per hour plus a very generous and comprehensive Benefit packet.

Bonuses: $2,000 annually upon completion and passing of AHRC Defensive Driving class; $2,000 annually upon completion of AMAP training.
