Job summary

Easterseals PORT Health is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to support individuals with IDD in their daily living tasks in Wake Forest, NC. This part-time role offers after-school hours and weekend shifts with local travel as needed.

You will assist with housekeeping, meal prep, personal care, and transportation, while documenting care in the health system. CPR/first aid training is included and employment is flexible to fit your schedule.

Qualifications

• Entry-level, on-the-job training provided.
• A High school diploma or GED is required.
• Knowledge of basic housekeeping, basic nutrition, and safety protocols.
• Interpersonal skills, attention to detail and dependability are essential.
• Proficiency with EHR systems or ability to learn software.

Responsibilities

• Provide care in the home of the individual and in the community.
• Assist with everyday tasks such as housekeeping, meal prep, cooking and cleaning; personal care like bathing and dressing; and employment support.
• Transport the client to appointments and run errands as needed.
• Help plan and organize the individual’s schedule.
• Daily documentation and reporting in the electronic health record system.
