Job summary

Easterseals PORT Health seeks a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to assist individuals with IDD in daily living and community tasks. The role includes home-based care, meal prep, personal care, and transportation support in East Bend or Winston-Salem, NC.

This position offers flexible hours with both part-time and full-time options and potential for growth. The DSP will document care in the electronic health record, coordinate schedules, and participate in training such as CPR/first aid,

Qualifications

• Entry-level position with on-the-job training provided.
• A High school diploma or GED is required.
• Knowledge of basic housekeeping, nutrition, and safety protocols is needed.
• Strong interpersonal skills and dependability are essential.
• Proficiency with EHR systems or willingness to learn quickly.
• Reliable transportation with current auto insurance is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide care in the home of the individual and the community they live in.
• Assist with everyday tasks such as housekeeping, meal preparation, cooking, and cleaning; personal care such as bathing and dressing; and employment support.
• Transport the client to appointments and run errands as needed.
• Help plan and organize the client's schedule.
• Daily documentation and reporting in the electronic health system of record.
