Job summary

Vertex Pharmaceuticals LLC in Boston, MA seeks a Manager, Manufacturing Operations to lead the Drug Product Facility and oversee day-to-day operations in a cGMP environment. You will direct staff, align with site leadership, and drive departmental and technical initiatives to ensure efficient production and compliance.

The role emphasizes cross-functional collaboration, quality by design concepts, and impactful process improvements to support manufacturing for patients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a scientific, technical, or engineering field.
• 4+ years of experience; supervisory experience with direct reports.
• Experience in technology transfer, scale-up, and late phase clinical development.
• Process development experience in solid oral dosage forms.
• Experience with cleaning validation and regulatory considerations (cGMP).
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operation of the Drug Product Facility in a cGMP environment.
• Direct staff, priorities, and task assignments; provide leadership to the group.
• Coordinate with site leadership for departmental and technical goals.
• Support projects and interdisciplinary initiatives to improve efficiency and procedures.
• Review/author batch documentation and manage documentation controls.
• Perform event investigations, CAPA, and change controls.
• Collaborate with internal/external teams for maintenance and upgrades.
• Identify opportunities to improve practices, procedures, and department performance.
