Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an on-site supervisor to manage fiber optic drop installations across multiple project areas in Henderson, NV. The role requires leading in-house crews, ensuring adherence to standards, and coordinating with engineers, management, and clients.

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of hands-on fiber optic experience, 1+ year of crew supervision, and OSHA 10 certification. Strong reporting, scheduling, and safety leadership are essential for success.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on fiber optic drop installation or OSP construction.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience leading or supervising field crews.
  • Strong knowledge of fiber optic installation methods for aerial and buried work.
  • Ability to read construction drawings, splice schematics and drop maps.
  • Valid driver’s license with clean record; ability to travel up to 100%.
  • OSHA 10-Hour Construction Certification preferred.
  • Experience with fiber optic splicing and testing preferred.
  • Proficiency with tablet reporting and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, schedule, and direct daily drop installation activities for in-house crews across project areas.
  • Ensure subscriber drop installations meet company standards and manufacturer guidelines.
  • Track progress against timelines and adjust crew assignments as needed.
  • Coordinate scheduling with engineering, project management, clients, and firms.
  • Inspect installations for workmanship, routing, labeling, and documentation.
  • Manage material inventory, logistics, and staging.
  • Maintain daily production records with unit counts, addresses, and statuses.
  • Resolve field issues involving access, permits, and easements.
  • Supervise, train, and provide feedback to installation crews.
  • Conduct safety briefings and enforce PPE and safe work practices.
  • Report incidents, near-misses, and quality issues with corrective actions.
  • Serve as on-site escalation point for customer concerns.
  • Coordinate installation scheduling, access requirements, and property restoration.
  • Provide daily production updates and participate in weekly meetings.
  • Maintain installation tracking records and report rework and quality trends.

Job description


  • Plan, schedule, and direct daily drop installation activities for in-house construction crews across assigned project areas

  • Ensure subscriber drop installations meet company standards, project specifications, and manufacturer guidelines

  • Track progress against grant and program timelines and adjust crew assignments and schedules

  • Coordinate scheduling with engineering, project management, clients, and engineering firms

  • Inspect completed installations for workmanship, routing, slack storage, labeling, and documentation

  • Manage material inventory, logistics, and staging

  • Maintain daily production records, including unit counts, addresses, completion status, exceptions, and rework

  • Resolve field issues involving access, routing, customer scheduling, permits, and easements

  • Supervise, train, schedule, and provide feedback to in-house installation crews

  • Conduct safety briefings, enforce PPE and safe work practices, and ensure regulatory compliance

  • Report incidents, near-misses, property damage, quality issues, and corrective actions

  • Serve as the on-site escalation point for customer and property-owner concerns

  • Coordinate installation scheduling, access requirements, and property restoration

  • Provide daily production updates and participate in weekly construction meetings

  • Maintain installation tracking records and report rework, failed inspections, and quality trends


Requirements


  • High school diploma or GED

  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with fiber optic drop installation or OSP construction

  • Minimum 1 year of experience leading or supervising field construction or installation crews

  • Strong working knowledge of fiber optic drop installation methods, materials, and best practices for aerial and buried applications

  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, splice schematics, and drop assignment maps

  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record

  • Ability to travel up to 100% for project assignments

  • Proficiency with a tablet or mobile device for daily reporting and production tracking

  • Ability to work outside in all weather conditions and perform physical labor, including lifting up to 50 pounds, climbing ladders, and working at heights

  • Ability to work 40 to 60+ hours per week as project demands require

  • Strong interpersonal skills for professional interaction with customers and property owners

  • Preferred: FTTH/FTTP drop installation at scale across multiple project areas

  • Preferred: Familiarity with grant-funded broadband deployment programs and compliance documentation

  • Preferred: OSHA 10-Hour Construction certification

  • Preferred: Experience with fiber optic splicing and testing

  • Preferred: Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) or equivalent productivity tools
