Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a telecommunications installation technician to deliver on-site service, install and repair copper and fiber cabling, and support data circuits for customers. You will diagnose and resolve technical issues, test circuits with OTDR, and travel to client sites using a company vehicle.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in telecom, strong customer service, and the ability to work independently in dynamic field environments. A technical college degree is preferred.

Qualifications

Five plus years of experience in telecommunications, business installation and service.
Positive, can-do attitude and customer-focused approach.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
Experience working independently in the field and thriving in a dynamic environment.
Clear and efficient verbal and written communication skills.
On-call evenings and weekends availability.
Eligible to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

Provide an elite customer service experience to all customers.
De-escalate customer concerns professionally.
Perform on-site installation and repair of internet, copper and fiber cabling, rack-mounted routers, and demarcation extensions at customer locations.
Identify, analyze, and resolve technical issues.
Install cable runs and swap out cards.
Install data circuits for internet connections.
Perform installation, repair, configuration, and testing of MACD on Nokia, Infinera, and Ciena equipment.
Support customer optical, electrical, voice, and data services.
Test circuits using optical time domain reflectometers (OTDR).
Travel to customer locations using a company-provided vehicle.

Maintain and follow Ledcor’s safety program when using vehicles, tools, and equipment
Work independently in a self-managed environment

Requirements

Five plus years of experience in telecommunications, business installation and service for electronics, appliances, security, and/or cabling
Positive, can-do attitude and customer-focused approach
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
Experience working independently in the field and thriving in a dynamic environment
Clear and efficient verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work on-call evenings and weekends
Ability to travel with a company-provided vehicle
Ability to sit, stand, bend, climb, lift up to 50 pounds, work at heights and in confined spaces, and work in safe weather conditions
Must be eligible to work in the United States
Degree or diploma from a technical college preferred
