Job summary

Flytrex is seeking a Real Estate and Development Manager to identify and launch drone takeoff/landing sites in the Houston area. You will oversee day-to-day real estate management, including leases, maintenance agreements, utilities, and broker relationships, working with leadership and operators.

The ideal candidate has deep knowledge of land use planning, zoning, permitting, and commercial/mixed-use development, with extensive travel across metros as needed.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in commercial brokerage, permitting, or urban planning and zoning.
• Strong understanding of land use planning, zoning, and municipal permitting processes.
• Familiarity with real estate legal documents (LOIs, purchase agreements, JV agreements, etc.).
• Entrepreneurial, hands-on approach with strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead search and sourcing for drone sites and ensure all leases and maintenance agreements.
• Coordinate drone delivery site operations in Houston and other metros as needed.
• Manage relationships with brokers, landlords, town councils, and governments.
• Handle paperwork, contracts, and zoning for each site.
• Negotiate leases for new drone sites and renewals for existing stations.
• Engage with city planners and building departments to streamline permitting.
